Okay, so I am ignorant to any type of building of boxes etc.. I will have someone doing that for me but need some advice.
In the last two months I have gone through 2 kicker l7 15's, (I assume box wasn't built correctly both times) or tuned wrong. Went through two diamond d3 12's which just didn't sound right nor were loud. Then went up to the Diamond D3 15s a pair that hit pretty **** hard in a ported box (speskers firing down) port towards the back but they again, didn't last. Another installer said a combo of port being two small and that they were hitting my interior trim piece below as they weren't up high enough to keep from hitting.
Now I am at an endpass. The 15's were the hardest hitting, and loudest. Tight, punchy, and thumped! But it wasn't as LOUD as I thought it would have been. In the past I have had quite a few systems. 4 Fosgate 12's on two punch 40's that killed this system now. But it was also a different vehicle. (Explorer). 2 15inch treo's that would restart a heart, and a couple of others. I want my Touareg to at least be close.
Out of the lines I can choose from at this stereo shop I have Memphis or Diamond to choose from. Im sure everyone will scream MOJO 15's but that is a bit out of my price range.
The amp that is in the truck is a JL 1000.1, kinetik 2000 battery + factory battery, and well.. an open truck in the back for subs! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Lastly I have always been a sealed enclosure guy. Nothing with ports... I am trying to be open here but I never really popped subs in a sealed enclosure. Hell I have 2 solobaric round 12's in my Audi that have been going for 8 years now.
I am trying to be budget friendly here also... So, what box, what speakers, what set up... Anyone have any type of experience with the Touareg? Thanks in advance
