my friend just called me today and said his stereo wasnt working right.. when he would mess with the bass knob on it, it would hit good for a second and then hardly at all... and he said it would happen just going down the road.. well by the time i met him in town to take a look.. the sub wasn't playing at all..

i've un-hooked the bass knob.. checked the ground/power wires... the green light is on, on the amp.... i even pulled the sub out of the box and made sure the wire nuts were tight.. and they were... fuse is not blown.... neither the sub or the amp were warm...

here's what i don't get.. the sub doesn't have output.. but it kinda shakes/vibrates.. not enough to move the sub visably but if you touch it you can feel it.. and it doesn't feel like it's moving to a song.. it just feels like one constant note or something... but can't hear it and barely feel it... any help?

sub- dd9512f

amp- planet audio tt2250d

batcap

pioneer cd player..

i'm going to unhook the dd later when he comes back and try a different speaker on it and see if it's the amp or sub... but i was just wanting to see if anyone knew the signs of what is wrong with this..

check the rca inputs and make sure the sub isnt grounding out thru the amp chassis. I found that before i set my amp up in one place *just floating around in my trunk before* my speaker wires would come loose sometimes, and one would ground out and produce one solid note. Of course mine was very audible and shook my mirror really badly. Yours may be doing the same thing. This is on my mrv-t757 alpine. Now i realize that not all amps do the same thing. Also check your rca connections.

Its like my dad always taught me while troubleshooting hydraulics and electronics, If you have a bad output, always make sure your input is good... more often than not, theres your problem.

Hope it all goes well for your bud though.
