HELP! Sirius on a Panasonic CQ-DF583U

I have a very simple question... I have a Panasonic CQ-DF583U head unit purchased in 2004 and installed in my car. I want sirius in my car now. I checked into a Sirius SIRPAN1 to see if it would work...

There's no way that unit will fit my radio and it's the only unit available. I'm having a real problem finding out which Sirius radio tuner will plug into the back of my radio. Some research online told me that in 2006, Panasonic updated their radios and the "old ones" would no longer work with the SIRPAN1. Of course, mine is an "old one".

I really don't want to buy a new radio as the one I have works just fine. Why did Panasonic make this change? And, does anyone know what part number for the Sirius radio tuner I should be looking for to work with my CQ-DF583U? I can't find any cross references anywhere.

But what about in my situation? Obviously, the Panasonic I currently have is not on that list, but it says it is Sirius ready. Which tuner do I need if that one won't work?

the Sirius universal kit that comes with the old school Round cd changer type connectors.

SIRPAN1 is used with the new fangled square jacks and you have to buy a 20 dollar adapter to turn any CD changer into the Square jack anyways.
