Ok my HU is a Kenwood KDC-mp922 5v preout. I just hooked up my amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif now what should I set all the specs to???

Subsonic filter, Low pass crossover, bass boost, Voltage???

Also when I play my music its quiet then when I bairlly turn the bass remote up a little it bumps loud but wont go any louder after the slight turn. I can turn it all the way up and it does not get louder than turning it a half a centimeter. What could that be the voltage setting on the amp???? Maybe not matching my HU.

Any help would be great thanks.

Oh yeah pics at my sounddomain Site in a hot minute.

My new amp

SSF - Depends on box, sealed or ported? if sealed you don't need it, as low as possible or just defeat it entirely. You have a ported box at 32 hz....so probably 28hz, maybe as low as 25 if you're feeling lucky, but i wouldn't.

Low Pass - What other speakers are you using? my brutus, which is powering a branhma 12" in a sealed box, is set around 80+ hz, i still play around with it. using amped speakers?

Bass Boost - this is something i don't really mess around with, if anything i turn it down o bass heavy songs...but that's just be. it's usually about 1/4-1/3 up par usual

Voltage - is determined by gain and HU signal, you have 5v preouts? now you need to figure out what your sub should be getting? how is it wired, aka what resistence? without a o-scope, or a multimeter it's hard to get precsise voltage. Easiet way is to load a cd of typical stuff you listen to. Then turn your headunit to about 75-80% volume, Be sure to have the amplifier gain all the way down, slowly turn it up, till you JUST hear clipping from the sub, then back it off so the clipping is gone.

**that RF woofer is dual 2ohms? so 1 ohm load? use ohm's law to figure it out.... around 31 something volts.

good luck!! glad you got serious about your amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

here is my post from another thread

To tune and amp....

1. Set HU setting how u like them and how u would listen to them.

2. Make sure gain and bass boost is all the way down.

3. Turn the volume up on ur HU as high as u would listen to it

4. Start turning up the gain until u hear the subs distort or when u know its too much and theyr not getting any louder.

5. turn it bak down a bit

6. Set ur Xover(LowPass) how u like it, turned the Xover up too much will cause the subs to sound messy.

Dont use Bass boost it causes uneeded distortion but if u want to use a little bit if u feel it makes them sound better then use only 2+-4+db and ull need to turn the gain down a bit more.

that should yeild u the best sound out of the sub. good luck

Nah its dual 4ohm so 2-8ohm loads. I'll give the amp tunning a try gotta go somewhere I wont disturb the peace like a park systems kinda loud. Thanks

If you are running a ported box be careful with the subsonic filter, setting it too low could cause damage to the subs when you hit a low note at high volumes.

It won't matter as much with a sealed box.

Leave the bass boost alone, do try to use it as a volume control. For the most part all it does is cause distrotion.
