help setting gains..

i just bought a digital meter to check my amp with.. i need help setting this up..

what i have is two 12' cvx kickers.. and the amp is a MB quart dsc1500.

i went and bought this innova 3320 to test it but i dont know where to start. i tried watching that how to set your gains video to....

thats what i bought.. i dont know what to set it on or anything... i just touch the wires thats going into the - and + or what...
