Okay its starting to tick me off so im going to do something about it. I recently built this computer, me and a computer guru buddy of mine anyways, and i have been having issues with what i THINK is the hard drive or drives. First off, i get a clicking sound coming from the hard drive/drives or the area around them. It used to be frequently, now its ussually just at shutdown. It still does it every once in a while by itself tho, ussually two weird clicking sounds back to back, loud enough to easily notice.

Also, every once in a while, my computer shuts windows down and blue screens on me. Its happened three times in about two months now. The blue screen talks about checking to see if hardware is installed right (which i know it is) and to make sure everything is updated ( which i believe is, and im sure that wouldnt cause a "clicking" sound)

I am guessing i might have to RMA the drive/drives, but if its causing me to bluescreen, wouldnt it just be the main hard drive? Does anyone have any ideas for me? all i use my second hard drive for is music and movie storage.

try a computer forum

not trying to be a dick but i wouldnt go to a computer forum and ask car audio questions

just think that would be your best bet

NVTcp.sys is a file associated with Nvidia video card drivers. Have you recently added this card or overclocked it?
i added the card when i built the computer about 2 months ago. Drivers are updated as of december 7th, i had the problem before and after i updated its drivers.

Tapping is the HDD going out. I would go ahead and back up files and get a new HDD
thats what i thought/didnt want to think. Umm, if its causing me to bluescreen, that should mean its my primary drive right? so my secondary drive would be uneffected? if thats the case, i can just unload all my files onto my second drive then RMA the primary

yea seems like ur hdd is going save all ur stuff before it dies my before i got my laptop my desktops hdd's would make a clicking sound not sure if its the same but i formated them both completely and it seemed to stop the sound but a week later the main drive died use something called cpu-z to check your computer out and get all your windows and hardware drivers uptodate even tho windows recognizes most things still good to have the drivers direct from the manufacturer

wow just bluescreend again, that was pretty close to the last blue screen. gonna RMA this hard drive. Do you guys think it would be a safe call if i assume the secondary drive is okay? if im bluescreening, that means its involved with my primary drives setup somehow correct? all my secondary drive has it music and program setup files stored on it.

If i can get away without RMA'in the secondary drive, i can save all my files

yea id think that would be fine i never liked useing the secondary drive i had and still have a 500gig external its usb but its not noticably slower or anything i had 2 40 gig WD drives
