Help salvaging a box with new design

Okay, here we go. I need lots of help on this one. I'm building a box for a couple 12"s that was originally supposed to be sealed. Okay, here's my problem. I got all of the pieces glued and screwed together with exception of the baffle board. Today when I put the baffle board on top of the glued pieces to drill the holes, it wasn't big enough. Haha. So now I'm debating on making it a ported box instead of going and buying another board for it. This I hope will work out fine because I was wanting a ported box to begin with but was scared off by the extensive formulas involved with figuring out the port size. Anyways, my box is 36" wide, 17" high, and 16" deep (outside dimensions.) Say I wanted to tune the box to 35 Hz, how would I incorporate ports into the design to accomplish that? Oh, FYI, the baffle board isn't high enough to cover the whole face so the port would be above or below the subs, either one, since I haven't mounted the subs yet. Would this port location be bad? It's my only option so I hope not. Umm....one more thing, I have this box split into two equal chambers, so I will need to make two seperate ports. Any help on this would be of great appreciation, if all else fails though, I guess I could just go and buy another board and revert to my original design. Thanks in advance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif

by my calculations you would make the 1" tall by 15". using the entire length of 16.75 (side to side) either top or bottom, it don't matter. since your box isn't 15" deep you would have to make an L shape at the back. but i'm just learning all of this port sh*t so u might want someone elses opinion.

Well I'm not sure, that might work, but it's two seperate chambers so I couldn't just have one port, it's gotta be two ports, one for each chamber. Thanks for the idea though.
