Okay, if I can do this, this will be my first install for an amp and crossovers. I have installed radios and speakers before but never an amp or crossovers. I will try to explain the best way I can.
My car is a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has the Bose system in it. It consists of 8 speakers and an amp mounted in the trunk. The factory system is 2 Ohms.
I was able to replace the factory radio with a Pioneer unit and still keep the factory amp and speakers. They sound good but I decided I want to replace everything in my car since I am in the process of trying to fix my car up. I am keeping everything Pioneer since I already have the radio and speakers. I have Pioneer 5.25 components including crossovers, 6X9s, and some 4" speakers.
The model of the speakers are:
TS-D1002R (4" speakers)
TS-D6902R (6X9's)
TS-D1320C (5.25 components)
The amp I want to get is a Pioneer GM-D8604 four channel. It's their newest model since they discontinued the GM-D9500F.
As stated I want to replace all the speakers in my car myself and install my own amp and crossovers. I am hoping it won't be to difficult. Shops in the area are telling me $400+ to install and I don't feel like spending that kind of money for something like this.
If anyone can help me and tell me what I need it will be much appreciated. I would love to learn how to install this myself. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
