Help Quick plz! with kicker l7

hey i got my kicker L7 today with the prefabbed kicker box and it was supposed to be the DVC 4 ohm version and thats what it says on the outside of the box were u hook the speaker wire up from the amp and i took the sub out and onn each voice coil it says 2 ohm so isnt this a Dual voice coil 2 ohm sub? or is it the 4 ohm sub???

If a dual 2 ohm sub is wired in series the final load will be 4 ohms.

Sounds like dual 2 ohm.. put a dmm on each coil to see... but I'm betting dual 2 ohm for sure.

You sure the outside of the box doesn't say 4 ohms?

the box says 2 ohms because its a dvc 4 ohm sub wired in series, thus presenting a 2 ohm load at the terminal.

oops wut i meant is the outside of the box says 4 ohms on it but the sub is dual 2 ohm and i checked the code and it says s12l72 catch the 2 at the end i guess that means dual 2 ohms so this really sucks i guess ill ahve to ship it back but not sure if ill ahve to pay for it or not?

I say contact the seller and tell him to pay for it. You shouldn't have to pay for anything since it wasn't your mistake. Good luck

im gettin my factory renewed kicker zx1000 i guess no way to run the sub at 2 ohms eh?

No, it is his fault for not knowing what he was buying.

well i dont think it was my fualt because on the website it sayed that it was the 06VS12l7(4) and on the back of the subwoofer it says 06VS12L7(2) note the 4 for 4 ohms

It's not really his fault when the seller knew exactly what he was looking for but sold him the wrong ohm sub anyways. It's the seller's fault for not mentioning anything. He's new to car audio, how was he suppose to know.

He should have been more careful and looked closer. He said that he thought it said dual 4 ohm on the box but they say 4 ohms, not dual 4. It's not the seller's fault he doesn't know. Ignorance on the buyer's part is NEVER the seller's fault.
