I recently put 2x JL 12W6V2's and Jl 1000/1 amp in my 2002 Infiniti Q45. The stock system is a bose. I took out the stock subwoofer over the trunk as to act as a port and connected the high low to the wires the stock sub was connected to. Sounds awsome, problem is, it cuts out at certain frequencies and gets quiet then picks back up. I'm not the only one with this problem. I've posted on several other forums but have yet to find a sure answer. I was thinking about having a JL cleansweep installed but I want to be sure it will fix it. Any suggestions on what to do about this?

Hey, Quart here. IF I can offer a suggestions before you go with the CleanSweep. Now it is totally possible to install the CleanSweep after the Bose amplifier and maintain factory control of you system (dash/steer volume, fader, etc) you will still have issues of the Bose compensation circuitry. For the best sound quality I do recommend doing it before the Bose amp, but you loose the above functality. When Sound Advice goes to install it, ask them if they can sum the outputs of the Bose amplifier so as to get a full range signal. I haven't done this, but according to the engineers at JL Audio I talked to this will solve the problem of the bass roll-off at higher volumes that many of us have noticed with this system. The summing can be done two ways, either using several inexpensive Line-output converters, or something like the Audiocontrol LC-6. I personally haven't tried this since the car is done and playing and haven't had the time or the burning desire to break it down again to rewire. If you do get the CleanSweep, report back after it is done and let us know how they install it and what if any functionality you loose.
