Ok I went out and bought a fifteen cvr 4 ohms I have it hooked up to a 1200 watt crunch mono class d but it keeps turnin off why is that should I buy a better amp I was thinking hifonics Brutus or what can I do please help I wanna get another fifteen

possibly a shitty ground and or loose wiring...is amp actually shutting off, or just going into protect?

yea it actually turns off because when im driving i hear it all of a suddden turn of i stop and open the trunk and i see the amp turning back on

So.. is it OFF or going into protect? Protect will cause that same "sudden turn off" you're hearing. The fact that it happens when your driving tends to make me think loose ground, poorly connected remote wire, something shorting, etc.

EDIT: Almost forgot.. is the amp getting hot?

Check your wires namely your ground. Use sand paper to remove the paint wherever you have it. Protect is that light on the side of your amp, its normally green but will turn red when in protect

yea thats what happened in my ladys honda i had to change the ground but i put in the ground on this one i removed the paint wire brushed it and all

It was the **** power wire it was melting how do i fix it so it doesnt happen again

you need better connections. A poor connection to your amp terminals will cause heat build up.

what size wire is your power wire?? if its a 30 guage or something stupid like that you should replace it, if its a 4 guage is it a true 4 guage or is a 12 guage with 4 guage wrap??
