help please

i have a pair of clarion 5" speakers in the door panels on my f150. once it's turned up over half way the bass notes to the song will start to come through very abrasively and make the nasty fart sound when the bass notes hit. it just doesn't sound good at all, and i have the bass turned almost all the way down and i've tried messing with the equalizer in many other ways to. theyre 150 watt speakers and i'm not running an amp. anyone have any idea whats going on and know how to fix it? do i just have bad speakers? please and thankyou

you need get a headunit that has a high pass filter on them so you can filter out the lower bass.This will clear things up.or just amp all of them and use the crossovers on the amp itself

well i just installed a new pioneer head so i'll go with the amp sltn i was planning on doing it eventually anyway i wasn't sure if it would help or hurt the noise though

its a panasonic CQC500U, not a pioneer

your trying to give the speakers more power then the hu can provide in turn clipping the head unit power and sending them a dirty signal. x2 on the high pass filter its a must. get those speakers on an amp with an hpf and youll be good to go
