Hi, Im new to the car audio world and I was wondering if someone could talk to me about some different products.

I would like to build a small system up very soon, and I dont want to buy anything I may regret.

If someone who knows quite a bit about car audio (good prices for different things, quality, etc.) could contact me on MSN (my contact is jesseturcotte@hotmail.com) I would really appreciate it.

Later.

Welcome to the board. However, your question will get no responses unless:

You tell us how much you want to spend

What all you need

What brands you like

Do you want it loud or clean

Are you ok buying off the net

This board probably aleady has 90% of the questions you are going to ask already posted on it, so do a lil digging around.

Well, brands dont mean a whole lot to me. I am just new to car audio so I know very little. And yes, Im looking for an entire system. I have nothing right now.

Thats is where the people from this board hopfully come in.

I live in Canada and I dont mind buying off of the internet.

I was looking on ebay and it looks like I can put a system togeather for under $700.

I dont really want to spend anymore if it is possible because I have to save up to get a new and pay for collage, etc...

Used equiptment is fine with me. Im just dont want to get into a sub that is hardcore abused and is going to go on me in a few months. But whatever, Ill worry about that when I find something.

I want a system that is fairly clean. Im not into it for decibals only. But dont get me wrong, I want some subs that will pound hard.

But anyways, I would appreciate the help. I would really like to stick with stuff that I can find here in Canada. My main source where I have been looking is http://www.ebay.ca

My only problem is that I dont know what is a deal and what is not. What is good quality, and what is junk.

Thanks in advance.

Jesse.

Your question is really really hard to answer. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

You can do what I did... hang around here and **** up knowledge for a couple months, then take a stab at some brand name gear and install it yourself.

Or...

Go to your local auto car sound store and pretend you're gonna pay $1000 plus installation on a system. Write down the brands and models of the gear they'd use and shop for the same stuff on eBay or another online source. You'll usually get at least 30% lower price on eBay than you'd get retail.

If you have any specific questions about equipment ask them here.
