Help Please...im Stuck

okay...i tried installin a pioneer HU in my 2000 sentra...connnected all the wires, checked to see if it worked b4 screwin it in, it worked but after i screwed it in it didnt work...checkwed the audio fuse under the hood...i blew it. i replaced it but still nothing...checked the fuse in my amp...fine...the fuse in the HU is fine...i replaced it anyway...put it back in...still nothing...thinking I blew the HU, i hooked the constant power line and the switched power line to the + battery terminal, and the ground to the -, it worked fine...i bought a new metra wire harness, hooked it up to the pioneer harness, and still i have no power to my reciever...this is not the only forum i have asked and still i have no answer... o and if this helps now the interior lights to the thermostat do not work unless i put the rear defroster on...this just started since i put the new HU in...i also tried putting the sony i used to have back in...same problem...please help i have been struggling for 3 days now

Problem sounds like it's between your fuse box and your wiring harness. Maybe there's more than one blown fuse you're looking for? Check under the dash for a fuse box as well.

yea i just woke up and i found the fuse box under the dash but it doesnt say anywhere which fuse is which i really dont feel like pulling em all out to see if one is blown or not

someone in a diff forum told me that the antenna may connect somewhere futher down and that could be diconnected, but i tugged on the antenna, and that bi*ch was 100% connected so thats not the problem

Some vehicles use the antenna connection as the ground, so make sure you have it plugged into the HU. Got bitten on that last summer doing an install for a friend.

Go to Kragens or Autozone and invest in a fuse detector, or something like that, Saves the time of pulling out each one to check if blown or not.

if a fuse was blown, it sounds like a dead short. you probably pinched a wire putting the radio in. check all the fuses this time.

man i checked all the fuses 1 million times....cant find a problem
