Ok, this is my first post, just wanted to say hi before I ask away. I'm familiar with head units and installation and wiring the harnesses, but beyond that I'm kinda in the dark when it comes to amps and whatnot. So I am gonna install an Alpine CDA-9886. I have a car that uses 4x 6.5" speakers.
For the two fronts I need to use some shallow mount speakers so I'm gonna get some:
-- INFINITY KAPPA 62.9IS 6.5" 2WAY
2-way 6-1/2" speakers (pair)
fit 6-3/4" openings
2-ohm impedance for extra power (compatible with all factory or aftermarket car stereos)
Plus One® woven-glass-fiber woofer cone with hi-roll rubber surround
1" rotating UniPivot, edge-driven M.M.D.® dome tweeter
computer-optimized outboard crossover with tweeter level control
direct-connect crossover dongle
power range: 2-65 watts RMS (195 watts peak power)
frequency response: 45-25,000 Hz
sensitivity: 95 dB
And for the rear:
6-1/2" Kappa Series Car Speakers
Power Handling:
Peak: 450 watts per pair / 225 watts each
RMS: 150 watts per pair / 75 watts each
Woven glass fiber cone woofer
Rubber surround
1" Edge-driven MMD (Metal Matrix Diaphragm) dome tweeter
UHF super tweeter allows for frequency response as high as 30000 Hz
Computer optimized voice-matched passive crossovers with audiophile-grade air core inductors and polypropylene capacitors
Adjustable tweeter level (-3 dB, 0, +3 dB)
2 ohms impedance.
I'm not sure what I'm gonna ad as far as a sub, but it's gonna be 1 of something a 10 or 12.
So really, besides rca's to hook up and speaker wire, gound, power (GAUGES on ALL THESE wires?)...what else do I need to build this. I'm thinking 4-channel amp with a seperate one for the sub? Or is there a better way to do this? NONE of this is in stone yet, including the deck, but i want to stick to alpine so thats for certain...I think... I would like to hear all your thoughts.
Thanks,
Dustin
