HELP!! phase setting

I have a old school mtx 1501-D and an alpine type-r 15 and i dont know if i should set the amp phase to 0 or 180 someone please help thanks

Try it one way... then try it the other way.

One should be significantly louder. Leave it on that setting.

That's how I set up home theater subs... and I can't imagine it's different here.

ok thanks the 180 is alot louder but i didnt know if it would effect the amp and or sub by changing it

also another question for anyone. i have a 00 cavalier z24 and im thinking of upgrading the alternator...any suggestions?

a 180 phaseshift on the amp would just be the same this is switching polarity on your speaker.
