alright guys i just signed up for an account so this is my first post and my first question.

i have an xtant x1001 and was thinking of a jl 13w7.

right now i have an 10" alpine type x. it is not satisfying. this amp begs to go louder. the gain is less then half way. ive owned the following...

all of these were powered by the xtant x1001 unless otherwise stated.

1 alpine type x 10" good sq nice appearance no spl in a sealed box though

2 infinity perfect 12.1d nice sq and spl subs slightly overrated could power 4

2 audiobahn alum 12s nice sq overrated subs could have powered 4 sim to perfect

2 diamond audio m6 12s nice sq and spl but not enough

1 12 w7 oh my god this was in the powerwedge box. this thing thumped but i blew my amp and sub at the same time. loose wires and pot holes and huge sparks optima battery and cap.

2 10w3s powered by fosgate 500a2 ported box. this was insane for 2 10s back in the later 90s. this was my first system.

2 12w3v2 powered by a phoenix gold zx450 in sealed box. this thumped soo nice. this amp is golden i wish i never sold it sq/spl monster. these were my bros 12w3v2s i let him borrow my amp before he got his jl 500. we both have eclipse cd5444 decks but also used alpine decks no crappy decks. the zx450 out performed the jl 500 watt in sq and spl. and it was smaller lighter and had internal fan on the top.

im thinking of runing my xtant x1001 on a 13w7 @3 ohms. the xtant is rated at 500@4 ohms 1000@2 ohms and 1000@1 ohm. so i suppose its rated at 750@3 ohms. but this amp cranks. i think possibly closer to 850-1050@ 3 ohms anyways when i powered the 12w7 with the xtant x1001 i had to have gains on amp all the way up to get the desired spl //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. i wanted to run conservative. my amp will last forever at 3 ohms even with the gain up. anyone run this set up or can offer an intellectual opinion?
