ok so i just got my directed 1100d and i hooked it up tonite, but they are distoring bad and even when i turn the gain down. they are kenwood w 3005 12's 2 of them and its an older model 1100d which is strappable. should i just get new subs?? because these dont seem to be working

thanks for any help

Zach

thanks pepsi ill try that, i dont know what the space they are gettin is, but it was custom built for the subs by r/t mobile sound and they are normally pretty good, so ill try the lpf

thanks

Zach

no i havent used it with any other subs yet, but its a big enough amp they should be getting plenty of power. there are alot of settings, frequency and lpf dials subsonic filter. how am i supposed to set all these??? ive never see and adjustable lpf before.

thanks

Zach

ok here... is you box ported? if not then turn off the sub sonic filter

set your gain, then turn your music up to where you listen to it, have the LPF about 3/4 of the way up, then slowly turn it down untill you cant hear voices in the subs, just bass, that's the way i set mine

but if your box is ported you'll need to set the SSF somewhere in the 50-65 hz range, but its all box tuning dependent.

PepsiFiend ~ that is flatly insane. He would only want to set the SSF that high (and it's pretty doubtful that there is that high of a frequency setting on the SSF to begin with!) if his enclosure was tuned to somewhere around 75~90Hz !!! What do you reckon the odds of that are?

its a sealed box. and ill try that again

thanks guys

Zach

P.S. Prowler R/T mobile sound is a company in Michiganm i have relatives up there and he builds their competition boxes. I believe hes in Ann Arbor

The only time I heard my subs sounding like they were distorting was when I set my amp to "full" instead of "LPF". Make sure you have your lowpass filter set.
