Help on upcoming box set up

I am new to this forum and was hoping to get some help with my audio set up that I am getting installed at a shop next week.

I have an 07 Altima with the stock BOSE system and am going to be adding 1 12" Type R with an MDX XThunder 600XD. I got the 2 ohms type R and would like to get 600 RMS out of the sub.

He said he could build me a box as well and I was just curious on what type of box I should ahve him make me? I listen to mainly hip hop music but I do listen to some rock music and love bass. Should I go with a sealed box or ported box? How should I have him tune the box and what type of other things should I asked him to do with the box because I know the box is just as important as the sub itself.

I still say go ported maybe 35ish hz? but just an advice do it yourself or ask somebody on here to do it for you, there are alot of people on the forums from Maryland, hell if I still lived in BMore I would help, and most will do it for free. I say do this so you can get an understanding of the whole car audio process. But anyways, get a custom box made, anything is better than prefab....

Yea he said he would make a custom box for me. I am new to this forum so I do not really know where to find people from Maryland. How would I go about finding someone to help me with this?
