Basically power and box size ... daily driving.

Then about 30 posts saying how it isn't for daily driving and you should've bought something else, yadda yadda yadda.

that just about sums it up.

Also, someone said if someone can afford a sub, they deserve it.

that means, Loyd, if you can afford to buy thumps as well, you deserve a thump too..:p chances are, you'll still make it louder than my setup anyway...

The guy who was hitting 158db's with one XXX 15" had a civic hatchback, I believe 1991or92. It was in a wall-like ported box. And yes I am positive it was Lin X. He was running two RF 1501bd's, this was a competition setup. Mine is a daily driving setup, but usually I run 2300-2400 watts (which was metered at 151-152db's). The time I hit 154db's I was running my Viper Audio 2500d at full power, which I'm sure does around 2600-2700watts, so for this instance it would be more of a competition usage.

You got 3 db's from giving your sub 300 more watts? WOW....amazing...

I had my Brahma 12 metered in 7cuft tuned to 50hz and only 750 rms and got a 138.7 on Lin X......

you are going to have at least 3500 watts to even push it...airspace depends on your application....i have 2 planet audio 2250d on mine with a 6 foot sealed box working on a 10 foot ported for spl...on my electrical system i have a powermaster 200 amp alternator and 3 optima batteries and an alumapro 10farad cap....and play it everyday

Boy what the hell is your problem.

This thread is old.

Why was it brought back in the first place?

Then everyone was told it was an old thread.

Then a new reply.

And then another really stupid new reply.

I don't get it?

How ****ed in the head can you be?

I think his goal is simly to spam the forum with Crossfire crap (not that crossfire is crap, but his statements are annoying). So far in two different replys he has finished off his posts with some statement about crossfire being the best in all CAPS.

actually kicker is trash, so are the solo x.

see most of you do not see the down fall of a square sub. less excrusion, uneven pressure points, lack of spl and lack of sq. trust me there are much better subs out there than the solo x!! or L7's. dont give too much hype towards a sub that does not seserve it.

"There are many problems with a square sub design. The subs were designed with surface area in mind for SPL, but the square design limits the excursion capabilities by a large factor. There are subs out there with twice the excursion of the Solo X and the surface area that round cones lack isn't as drastic as the loss of excursion that the Solo suffers from. Also, a square cone has uneven pressure points, requiring large structural reinforcement (added mass) and a strong surround to keep the sub intact. You'll also hear a few people mention lead slap being an issue. It also suffers from cone flex and added distortion for those concerned with both a sound quality and durability standpoint. For SPL and durability, a square cone architecturally is not the best choice in subs to have. For SQ, you can definately forget square subs entirely as a comparably built round cone sub will ALWAYS sound better."
