help on speaker sizes

ive got a 94 accord and need to find 6 1/2 or 5 1/4 speakers that are good quality and are 2 inches or less deep....checked the cdt's but they are too big....anything that will provide good midbass and soft clean highs???

i had the same problum with my car, pioneer has some nice cheep 6 1/2 200watt mids that are 1 1/2 inches deep.

um...im lookin to spend $50-150 on either a comp set or regular speakers....i already have a set of speakers for the back....and i plan to get an ek10 in the trunk so i dont care about the speakers givin bass...i just want somethin that will give good midbass and not rip my ears apart with the highs....my friend got some cheap kenwoods and they were too sharp for my liking...even with the treble turned down....

You could build an MDF mounting ring for the speakers, so mounting depth wouldn't matter. That would be my suggestion.

sry...im sorta a rookie with car audio...what kinda mounting ring? sry i need a little explanation...and how much would it cost, cuz i could get cdt classics if it works out...

he means to take like sum wood amake a little beacket and screw it down where the speaker would have went then place the 6 1/2 on there and it will give it more clearance than 2 inches

If you want a 2" top mount depth, look at 5.25" for normal speakers. Crutchfield comparator or somethign like that. I recycled my old vega 502's into the 6.75" door holes (because of a 2" mount depth problem). Be sure you look at top vs bottom mount as well.

ok...will the bracket make the speaker stick out too far for the stock grill cover? if it did...what would i do?
