help on new system

im new to the forums but ive been messing aorudn with car audio for about a year now. im not exactly new but i am still learning so bare with me.

im getting ready to get a new car, 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity, and since im going to spend so much time in it a want a new system, and since i like loud stuff, i want a nice loud system. plus i am looking to maybe compete in next years DBDrag circuit. everythign that im going to say is all based on the research ive done and stuff ive readon varisou forums and sites around the web.. well here it is:

Headunit:High End kenwood, its my friends and he didnt want to put it in his new 05 mazda 3 so hes selling it to me for 150$

fronts: kenwood 3-way - eventually ->focal/BA/Re components

rears: "

sub: XXX18

amps: Front:HU internal

Rears Blitz audio POS

Sub: Hifonics BX2005D

im not bothering with soud deading cuz the car im looking at getting is a rattle trap so it wouldnt be worth the money i would need to invest.

now im not sure about the amp, i know hifonics is a decent brand, but what are some others? im looking @

and my biggest question, what kind of box? what size? ported? sealed? bandpass? and should i face it towards the license plate, or toward the backseats? i was thinking towards the backseats because i might compete and the meter is up on the windshield, but would facing them towards the seat affect it that much?

from what ive read and researched i thinking about a 8-10 CUFT w/ somewhere around 140sqin port area @ 29HZ.

if i port the box im going to lose the upper bass freqs right? [80-50 ish]

also how would i go about make the ports? im assuming something that big would be a slot not circle.

also what would yall recommend for car security, i do not want all this **** jacked, im thinking about bolting my box into the car. but any good/bad expreicnes with car alarms? any brands to watch out for?

and are there any good online stores? ive been looking @ ikesound, i know crutchfield but they dont carry anything that interest me, and there expensive. the local shops all push alpine and audiobahn, with the occasional W7 or W6V2 showing up.

well i aprecaite any and all help/advice/critisms/ just dont flame, this IS my first real system and i want to do it right the first time.

if your looking for a loud system... 3 way comps powered with the HU isnt going to cut it. Might want to look into a component amp that does at least 100x2 RMS to keep up with that monstrosity of a subwoofer.

As for sub amps, i've heard great things about the Power Acoustik PA 3000BD. 2400 RMS at 1 ohm and you can find them for around $300.

and slot and circle ports sound the same if done right, but circle ports generally have a bigger risk of port noise.. I personally like round ports

im getting 4x 6.5 components later, prolly for XMAS.

im pretty set on the XXX18, although i might have to reconsider cuz i just heard something about them not shipping :-\ but we'll see. its gonan be a couple weeks til i order the sub. im jsut trying to get my shit straight before i dive into this.

biggest thing i need help with is the box. Re recommends 7.5 cubes @ 30HZ. would this be good for 2000W if tuned properly?
