Hello!

this is my first post here! i'm DjDecibel From Italy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i own a bmw e36 Saloon, and this is the problem.. it has a sealed trunk!!! the only holes between the trunk and the car interior are the original 4" speakers holes!

i just bought:

2 X Spl Dynamics PRO-12D2 MK-3

Size: 12 Inches

Power handling (RMS/Peak): 500/1000 W

Nominal impedance: 2 x 2 Ohm

Mounting depth: 6.62 inch

Mounting diameter: 10.87 inch

Magnet diameter: 6.7 inch

Magnet height: 1.58 inch

Magnet weight: 130 oz

Voice Coil diameter: 2,56 inch

Voice Coil Type/Material: DVC/BASV

Fs: 29 Hz

Vas: 1.907 ft^3

Qts: 0,42

Qes: 0,44

Qms: 6,1924

Xmax (lin/peak): 0.67/1.34 inch

Re: 2 x 1,8 Ohm

Mms: 217 g

BL: 18,1 TM

SPL (1W/m): 86,8 dB

Box suggestions:

Closed box 0,918 - 1,413 ft^3

Bass-Reflex box 1,130 - 2,119 ft^3

i need to make 2 different boxes because one entire box can't enter from the trunk..

here's my idea: a 4th order bandpass with 2 cubic sloped separate boxes that uses the originale holes for the vents:

here the space i can use for each box

W=16,55inch

H=16,15inch

D1=18,12inch

D2=11,43inch

i can increment or decrease only D1 and D2..

can anyone help me with my bandbass project?

They have a good point..

Taking a look through it seems those subs are best suited ported/6th order as opposed to 4th. Not to say it cant work, the VAS is rather high on those subs which will make them considerably easier and more fitting than a similar super-strong motor sub.

open the ski pass in the trunk is simple, but in front of the hole there's the rear seat and it's without hole, and it's composed of more than 30cm of sponge and leather //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

the idea of a curved port is wrong?

You literally just read my mind.

Cut the ski hole out and then run the port through that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Agreed. The last two designs I built for the e36 sedan and e46 convertable were through the skipass. Recommended as you will get more port area as well that way without too many complicated bends.

but i don't have the skypass in the rear seats! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif so it's a problem :p

i'm going to buy the SPL Dynamics because them are better for the low frequencys i think..

i listen to RnB, a lot of Lil Jhon, and a italian music genre called HardSlow Style

wich one will be better?

Not a problem, just different. Nothing that wood cannot be wrapped around, lol. Would you like one of us to design it for you? PM any of us. If you do not mind paying for a design, others here and I can help finish a design for you, and some may even do it free. Just ask around. We can get you hooked up, trust me....enough knowledge involved this thread alone to get you what you need. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just let one of us know

mmh.. i'd like a help but i can't pay :p but i don't know how to make a good design with a good sound.. here in italy the bandpass is rarely used.. but it's the unique solution for my car... but without ski pass it's a bit difficult for me..

for this reasond would be great if someone can design a enclosure for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ps: here the specs of the spl dynamics converted in USA unit :p

If no one helps you soon, and I get caught up on blueprints, I will be happy to help you out on the thread here. I will let you know where I stand in a few days. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
