i was wondering if there were small comps for people just starting off and that are ballin on a budget and i would start when i'm 16 am i too young?

i was thinking about starting off in a small ext. cab pick up like a s-10 or a ford ranger or something u get the idea and the putting 2 audiobahn AW1208T 12" woofers in there and then get a good amp for....(need help on amp too) would that be a good start?

let me know

and tell me some about audiobahn i've heard them once and it sounded good but are they really good?

and i live in phenix city, alabama next to columbus, georgia so if anyone can tell me about some car shows or something to enter let me know thanks

THere is someone here, 17 years old, who has quite a few trophies, is one of the LOUDEST member here. He does magic in his Ford Ranger. He will definitely recommend you something else besides audiobahns, and no, you're not too young to start competing.

okay thanks what brand do you recommend then and remember i'm on a budget a small budget too i'm 15 right now w/ a minimum wage job lol and can you tell me a place to get good deals on car audio stuff

well, the loud 17 year old's name is Dustin,(Rangerman) and he alsohappens to be the team leader for team caraudio.com. He hits over 150dB's with dual 12"s, and uses stereo integrity magnum D2.

There are also a lot of other factors that can contribute to higher decibels, but having a loud sub to start with will give you an advantage.

I would recommend the SI magnums, eD A, amongst so many other brands out there.

It really would depend on your budget, and if it's really tight, maybe the ed K.

never too young to get into the game.

hit as many of the forums as possible for info.

read and read and ask smart questions.

learn what works in your vehicle.

if possible hit some sanctioned comps and try to get into conversations with those who seem to have a grip on the whole thing. they might take you in undeer their wing and help you out with info and mayb some meter time if they have one.

equipment does do wonders.

yes you can spend some serious cash, but on the other side you can get by with less cash.

some subs and amps take abuse like nobodies business and keep going and going.

some subs can be rebuilt or reconed.

finals are coming up and many will run entire new setups for finals. then after the fact they dump alot of equipment.

so forum for sale sections will be loaded.

ebay will also be loaded.

so in the meantime

learn

ask

learn some more

I was doing 50's at age 14 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif Your not that young //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :p

Anyway, there are many things you need to decide on. What organization are you going to compete in? What class? What budget? What modifications are you willing to do?
