Hello, I will start off saying, i am fairly new to car audio so if i have some noob questions im only trying to learn. I am building my fist box for a buddy of mine, and im not quite sure where to start. I will be using either a HS212 or a HS215. Im not sure which will sound better in ported or sealed
But i do have 3/4 MDF board, and dimensions. I will have the box in an extended cab Toyota Tacoma 1999 and use one of the back seats. Im looking to put the wall where the sub will be mounted in again the back wall and extend the top and bottom MDF pieces and use them as "legs" so the sub woofer inst actually touching the back wall. Im looking to only run 1 of the two mentioned, and looking for the sub box to be longer.
The dimensions i have done so far are 2 ft long x 8.5 inches in depth x 17 inches in height, these are inside box measurements. I want to go sealed as i heard it is easier, but ported is louder but im not sure how to calculate Cubic ft in the box, port tuning, what kinda port aero or slot, im not sure what information i can give that is helpful because i havent done this before. Soundqubed said the HS212 would sound good with 1.75 cubic feet of air sealed, but i dont know how much i have with those current dimensions. I tried plotting the subs in WinISD but couldn't figure out how to read the graphs and else what. Soundqubed also gave me the full list of T/s specs for the 12 inch sub. Like how much more beneficial is going ported rather than sealed, and with those measurements which would sound the best in it the 12 or 15?
If you need any more info,im sure you do, just ask
Thanks
