Help on Amp Decision

Hi,

I'm new to these forums and to the whole car audio scene so you will have to excuse my ignorance but i need some help deciding on an amp(s). I will need to be powering Kappa Perfect 6.1 (100x4@4Ohms) and Kappa 6x9s (110x2@2Ohms). Should i get 2 2-channel amps or one 4 Channel. the only thing i dont like about gettin a 4 channel amp is my rear 6x9s would be getting way more power than i would like as they are for rear fill. But i was wondering what you guys thought.

thanks.

You could do either, buy whichever combo you like better. A 4-channel will likely take up less space, and you can just turn the gain down to balance the sound the way you want. If you are just running some 6x9's and a set of components, you can pretty much ignore 2ohm power specs because your setup should be strictly 4ohm(normally)

i wouldn't even amp the 6x9's. run them off the headunit if you really need them and amp the components. if you feel you must amp the 6x9's, just get a 4 channel and turn down the gains. imo it's silly to buy 2 2-channels and then have to wire up 2 amps vs. one.
