In the back of my Escalade , behind the 3rd row. I want to put a false floor box.

Im designing it very thin and want to carpet it in the same color so it basically looks as it did before. The non measured design is attached.

Does anyone see any problems with this design?

its a 2.75" internal height

39" internal length

and 9" internal depth

for just over a half cube of sealed volume for an AA 8" which is backwards loaded.

On the top of the box i *might* bold the hinges that are on my current floor for the cargo net, but i havn't decided.

SECOND QUESTION

on backwards loaded subs, when you're loading them, in this scinario, which direction should the screws face? which way should the lip of the sub rest in the opening?

A different way of asking this is - can i mount the sub, after the box is built? or do i need to mount the sub inside the box with the motor out, and then finish construction of the bottom panel, sealing the box.

i believe that the box specs look like they should work, i dont know about that specific sub but if the specs say its reverse mountable you should just be able to secure the sub from the outside
