Help? Never installed a 2nd battery before

I just picked up a kinetic 1400 from a guy here for $75. I know it's not big enough for what need but I figured it would help a bit. I've never used a battery before so I'm not sure how to go about hooking it up, do I need a regulator of some sort? The guy who sold it to me said the 1400 would be best under the hood with another kinetic 2400 in the trunk.

I'm running a Brutus brz 2400.1d and two ab xfl 12's.

You can replace the battery under your hood with that one, if you want. Or you can put that in your trunk. (Assuming your battery up front is also an AGM)

You *could* use an isolator, but it's really not necessary. Just run pos to pos and ground to ground. Fuse on both sides of the pos wire, as close to the batterys as possible.

I found a Kinetik 1800 for sale an hour from me for $100. You think I should go for that and put it under the hood? Then put the 1400 in the trunk? Would that be a better setup?
