help needed please

I'm looking to upgrade my speakers in my zafira mk1 they are 6.5 components in front and 5.25 in rear I'm not looking at getting a sub no where to put so believe will be better to stick with components for some descent bass still I'm running a pioneer deh2300ub I was looking at the vibe slicks in Halford which sounded descent compared to there edge and fli I have also looked on line and phoned a few car audio shops to be told down to my preference this means nothing to me I want ones that sound as good if not better then my stock speakers and then even better when I finally hook up an amp I know a high sensitivity ie 90db is good to look for I been told the vibe slicks can be tinty I no of infinity kappa and reference pioneer ts g and ts a I got recommended JBL GTO 609c bloke said there nice and bassy with or without external amp what do you guys and girls think please help many thanks also do you think the jbl gto 609c will provide me enough bass r do you think you know of some components more bass etc many thanks

Unless you're a rare dude who likes the bass really mild I doubt any 6.5" components are going to give you good bass. Have you looked into a powered subwoofer that might fit under one of the front seats?

See this is the thing at present I have plenty of bass of my stock speakers so ur telling me aftermarket speakers ain't gonna match r be better I was under the impression the JBLGTO609C were quite punchy according to the people at caraudiodirect yeah not gonna get rumble in the jungle bass but surely punchy bass thanks in advance but as said in above post m not looking into subs at all

Aftermarket speakers will not produce the same bass as stock speakers. They are not designed the same

Right I see so there no point changing my 20w stock speakers so this post was pointless I thought components come with a tweeter and woofer same as my car came with but I upgraded the stock stereo just thought I would upgrade the door speakers as well but if gonna sound worse and no bass there ain't no point I was going to swap just the front door components run of pioneer for now then amp them of say a 2 channel amp and leave the rears doors normal

High end aftermarket mids and highs are designed to play certain frequencies ranges. They, in most cases, assume that it will be paired with a sub stage. Factory speakers tend to have a bit broader range so they may play more frequencies, just not as clearly. If you are going to amp the fronts though you may still find your satisfied with the output. Just gotta set the high pass filter low so those midbass frequencies get through. If using a passive crossover though you might not have any option.

So basically my stock speakers went in the lower frequencies then the JBLGTO609C components I got my heart set on lol but I believe they do go quite low if u check on caraudiodirect but not as much as stock I cam get them 99.99 but I ain't rich and don't want to waste money maybe I could get a 3 channel amp and 2 for the front and 1 channel higher wattage for a sub I do own a 8in bass tube and a dual 10 r 12 in bassoon by vibe from years back could probably do with new subs and a Sony xplode 2 channel amp but wanted to keep all available space in car really hence why was hoping for equally bass r better sorry for being awkward just need some solid advice I'm use to having 6 by 9s in parcel shelf but zafira doesn't have that option many thanks

nothing like a dictated sub. you cold get a nice 4 channel to do that as well.. im not even sure if they still make 3 channel amps.

Yeah they 75w rms or 270 peak so what rms amp was looking at 100rms per channel at least really to hopefully get some nice power in them what u think 50 seems but low

Just out of interest what would u guys recommend if u owned a zafira ie for front doors components r coaxial and rear doors if any point currently only one rear door has working stocks the other I have blown with my love for playing at volume 40 and sub amp to run all etc I'm not bothered on what brand etc just wants it loud clean and plenty of bass line cheers people
