this is my first time on this site, or any forum for that matter, even tho i build computers for a living lol so go figure... we'll just see how this goes... any and all help would be greatly apprecaited fellas n ladies... here goes...

i have a Alpine mrv-F450... i have an enclosure for 2 12" subs, and all the wiring & tools needed in addition to this alpine amp... id like to kno wat subs would slam teh hardest in my 2001 lincoln town car, with its massive *** trunk, and massive interior... im thinkin stayin all alpine? or JL audio subs (my fav brand) if possible. tryina keep it light on the wallet, if possible. id also like to amp 4 speakers, again either keepin it all alpine or JL's... two 5x7s in front and two 6x9s in back i believe if its the same as my old mercury grand marquis... id also need to kno how to correctly bridge/setup the wiring on the amp pre outs. thanks in advance all. MY FIRST SYSTEM IN MY OWN RIDE! IM AMPED! ...LITERALLY!

or JL audio subs (my fav brand) if possible. tryina keep it light on the wallet,
thats a contradiction. JL is not light on the wallet. With the 450, you are only going to reach moderate levels, and being that it isnt 1ohm stable, you are going to want 2 svc4ohm 12s, to put your amp at 2ohm and optimize its power.

You didnt state however, what is your budget? And do you only care about getting loud? or sound quality also?

o tru tru... 2svc4 ohm 12s... gotcha... how would i put my amp at 2ohms? certain wiring? my budget would be just for the subs alone maybe $300ish. those are my main priority over the speakers, id like to go boom boom down the street n deal w/my stock speakers for now... im gettin a $1200 tax refun w/in the next week or two, so id like to thro maybe $500 to subs/speakers/this system. i have all JL power/speaker wires... it was left to my by my brother who was killed on his motorcycle this past june... mite as well put it all to use, as hed have liked to. thanks for the help.

your budget is pretty light. Alpine Type-E subs certainly fits the budget but you need to lower your expectations for how loud you can be for that price. loud bass requires high power and high power comes at a cost. However, it will be much better than what you have now. Make sure you build/buy an enclosure sized per the MFR specs.

you have a great amp:

Details:

Alpine MRV-F450

* 50 watts RMS x 4 + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms

* 60 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms

* 120 watts RMS x 2 + 200 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode

* 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-channel output

* Tri-way capable (Tri-Way crossover required)

* requires 8-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier

* Bass Engine® features:

o front and rear channels have variable 50-200 Hz high-pass/low-pass crossovers, 12 dB/octave

o sub channel has a 30-200 Hz low-pass crossover, 12 dB/octave

o selectable (15 Hz or 30 Hz) subsonic filter on the sub channel

o tuned Bass EQ (6 dB bass boost at 50 Hz with adjustable Q factor, while frequencies below 30 Hz are cut by 6 dB) on the sub channel

Be sure to read this manual :

http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/500/500MRVF340.PDF

note that the sub channel needs 4 ohm load - so you need two 4 ohm DVC subs. ignore the advice above for a 2 ohm sub load.

front speakers - try to get a component set up front. Crutchfield can tell you what fits your car.

Man. I was like that. Wanted to stick with one brand. My first 3 systems were Rockford. I decided to branch out one day for the F*** of it. Turns out. There's a lot better S*** out there. You know what I'm sayin.

You happened to switch to one of the best companies out there and he aint got the moneys!

good equipment is expensive. a great installation takes a lot of time and effort.

i'm starting a $4k SQL build in a 05 Scion tC in the coming months. i estimate at least 100 hours will go into it.

measure the internal volume of your box and compare it to the Type-E and Type-S subs. You may need to go to Type-S to get 4 ohm DVC

the specs on the box i have are as folllows:

width: 30"

.............................................................

height: 13" |^

............................................................._____

depth: 17" at the bottom, 14" at the top

.............................................................

...is this suffice for these subs? ...or what subs would u guys reccommend for the sizing of this box?
