Help!my h/u is goin crazy

im new herre and i have a question. well im drivin down the road and my h/u (kenwood kdc 4019) the display just blacks out and it kept playing but when i hit the volume down it turned all teh way down and when i turned it up, it went all the way up. well then i pull over take off the face and it works fine now but what im wondering is if something is really screwed up in it or if it was just like a once in a lifetime thing
