Help me with my noobish hook up

:crap:Ok, so I installed the things in my car b4 perfectly. I recently removed some pieces in order to do a physics demo, and now that I'm hooking things back up, I've blown a fuse, and have hugmongo dongo sparks.

I gots my 0awg running back to a distro block, where it runs to my amp, and my kinetik 1400.

So I unhook the positive on my front battery, put back in my second battery (trunk).

I put the ground on the second battery, and try hooking up the positive.

Sparks. Why?

So unhook that, unhook negative on the second battery. Unhook positive on my amp. Put both the positive and negative on my second battery, no issues. Plug the positive back into my amp. Fuse blew. Why?

Well continued w/o worrying about the second batt for now, amp hooked up, go to hook on the + of my front battery.

Sparks flew.

What am I doing wrong guys? I mean I dont really understand DC yet, but I've done this b4 w/o blowing things.

I've lost faith in my own skills, could ne of you help me understand how to hook things up w/o dying?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yes it's charged, used it in my class to power another amp to push a 15. Plus sparks were flying off it like crazy when I r-tard hooked it up.

Help appreciated, I just want to know if hooking it up where i hook up + first, then the negatives, i will get reduced sparkage right?

sry..wasn't on last night...you should give the negative reconnect a try...

there is a reason for sparks and the fuse popping, so you may have a grounded positive somewhere, or something connected wrong....go back over all connections and be sure you don't have a pinched wire somewhere.....is there a cap on the circuit?

edit: also check your kinetik with a dmm to be sure it is 12+

I don't have a DMM here, but I might b able to use one sunday, if i can find one.

I'm almost certain its no where being lower than 12 volts, simply because my voltage hardly drops since i got a new amp in my car.

Also when u say negative reconnects, u mean do my positives first, then hook up negatives? lol sorry, but after all those sparks I just want to be sure.

I'm going to have to recheck it tho.

I will try an get pics also.

its the wiring

the 0 gauge is sending it to much current. lol j/k

check that you dont have pos and neg backwards on the amp cause i did that on one of mine once and it cause sparks and fuses popping. until i realized i had it backwards lolz.

Dude....

I got it now...

I was doing it all right, except I was a dumb *** and didnt really look.

I had the ground and positive mixed...

Amp still works... lol... thank god...

Thank you all VERYYYYY much for your insight!

I just need to b in less of a hurry i guess.
