I just purchased a Fusion FJL-1611d nd need some help. I got a 15" L7 Dual 2 ohm and anytime I wire it to 2 ohm it shuts the amp off after a few seconds of bumping. But if I wire the sub to 4 ohm it bumps and sounds pretty good. Why would this be, the amp is supposed to be 1 ohm stable(actually 1/2 ohm stable) and plenty of power.

I have a stock alternator and a regular battery with 4 gauge to the back. it's in a 87 cutlass. Any help would be great thanks.

If its a dual2 you can't wire it to a 2ohm load. You can do one coil on each side and get full power from your amp. Its a 2ch amp and its not stable bridged at the 1ohm load I suspect you're trying. Thats why it goes into protect.

Put one coil on each side or run the positive from one side and the negetive from the other side bridged to the amp and then connect the odd positive to the odd negetive for a 4 ohm load. That gives you max rms and should run just fine.

The amp is supposed to be 1 ohm stable, so it's not? I tried running a 1 ohm load bridged and not bridged and the same thing happened both ways it just goes into protect after a few seconds. I played it in 4 ohm but I just figured it would be better in 1 ohm, but not if the amp can't do it I guess. That's bad a **** $1000 can't hold a 1 ohm load? wtf

Hey guys, think it might be that my electrical is not good enough to run it in 1 ohm, all I have is a reg battery up front, 4 gauge front to back and a stock alternator? you think so?

my brother has one, he has it running in 2ohms per side, i think it is internally brighed at 4 or 1 ohms, i.m not sure
Even tho this thread is old, i just came across it and wanted to point out for this guy and others who may not know. Its NOT a 2 channel, and its not "internally bridged" Alot of mono amps have two pairs of speaker outputs for ease of connecting mulptiple subs. I know most everyone on here knows this, but obviously some people dont.
