ok so in my car i have been told some think its a actual component set from the factory. its a 2014 civic ex. i have tweeters in the a pillars and 6.5 speaker in the door. so my question is this, i have a set of 6.5 coaxles that i absolutely love and i mean love. if i take off my doors and the stock speaker is wired standard with two wires how much damage would be caused by swaping it with my coaxles. i know if its a component setup i should not put a coax in there but would it work without damaging anything if i do in fact have components in there. any help appretiated alot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my guess is it would be sending mid frequiencies and the tweeter would sound like crap right? but thats if its a component setp stock right?

No, there's passive crossovers built in on most coaxials along with bass blockers on the factory tweeter. Are they running off head unit power or factory amp?

You most likely might run into extremely bright sound from excess tweeters and not enough midrange. Might even sound harsh

its stock head unit and stock amp the ohms and rms match up perfectly i love highs id love to have a overload but do you think the little capcitor and crossover on the coaxle will damage the cars crossovers again thats if it is a component set up with crossovers

It wont damage anything it just blocks frequencies thats all crossovers do.

if the car has built in crossovers wouldnt that mean the tweeter in my coax wont see the high freq needed or thats just a posibility? rerally sorry for the dumb questions just want to try them out and get advice first.

Depends on the crossover of the speaker and the passive/active is set at. Could cause phase issues with the crossovers at different freqs. Shouldn't cause any damage though, SQ will be off. I could be wrong that's my understanding of it.

But if money isn't an issue, if it sounds good to you and you like it do whatch feel.

see in my front the doors have a rediculous amount of mid bass which is great but the stock tweetes are so high up higher up on the a pillars so the desperation makes it sound uneven so I was hopi putting in these coax would help mellow out some of the mid bass and add some highs in between the pillars and door u can just hear that large gap missing them I hope that made sense

I suggest putting an amp on the tweets, maybe even replace them with a decent aftermarket pair. If youridbass is where you want it I'd say leave it on hu power or just put them both on separate channela. You said you have a factory amp and head unit. What is your amp powering if it's all on your hu?

A coaxial AND tweets would just overload your ears with shrillness. It would fill the gap you speak of with a terrible screech. And loud midbass between that would sound just off to me.
