Did I just mess my basket up? Audiopulse Revo recone

Never attempted this before but I got a recone for my Audiopulse Revo 10" and while breaking the basket down I broke some kind of plastic ring that I think the spider was supposed to glue to. The recone I have from PSI looks like it wouldn't of fit with that plastic ring, the spider was too close to the cone. It also had the two spiders separate, one glued to the top of this plastic ring and the other glued underneath it. My recone has the spiders together.

It looks like it will fit now but the mounting surface doesn't have a complete ring to it now, so there is no way to get the spider glued down 100%.

No. You need that ring tho. Usually they are attached to the coil pack. We at tantric make recone kits like this

Well that ring is in many pieces now unfortunately, any idea on where to source a replacement? Not sure what you mean by attached to coil pack, it was basically a spacer and the two separated spiders were glued on the top and bottom, now I only have one spider area that needs to be glued. I need this spacer to glue my new spider to?

You don't "need" that ring, though IMO for what you likely paid for a PSI recone you should have got the ring and spaced spiders! It's just to space out the two spiders. so you don't get mechanical noise from them rubbing each other and to raise the triple joint on the former.

Just clean all the plastic and bits of spider off the frame and glue the new spider right to the landing.

If you feel you need a spacer, I may have a couple here and you should be able to google up Robot Underground for one, or find one on eBay. For future reference, you should have been able to get it off in one piece and trim the spiders off it with a razor knife.

Carefully use a pry tool next time if the glue is really giving you a hard time.

Pretty sure psi sells those spacers.

Thanks for the help guys, to be honest I didn't think plastic was found on subwoofers like this, I assumed it was metal and messed it up pretty good trying to get the glue/etc off, then it just want to hell after that.

The recone sure wasn't cheap and I am curious now if they just sent me a cheaper version or what... Did they just glue the two spiders together on this recone? Or is it a single spider and they were supposed to send me the ring/spaced out spiders?
