Help me with a DD 1508 question

Okay I have a MTX 1501D - about 1500 watts rms at 2 ohms. Should I run TWO DD 1508's or just one with this power. There will be seperate ported boxes - 1ft^3 tuned to 38hz. Will two with less power each be louder than one with max power?

Okay another question. I have very limited room, system is going in an '87 MR2. My main problem is mounting depth. How much space should I leave between the pole vent and the back of the box?
