Help me understand Bridging

Ok. i know how bridging works..but this doesnt make sense to me

my autotek reads as follows...2x250 @4ohms, 2x275 @2ohms, and 500x1 @4ohms mono..All RMS rating..whats up with the mono? arent all subs mono to start with? Neways..if it is 1 ohm capable why isnt there a rating for 1 ohm?? like 800x1 @ 2 ohms or 1000x1 @ 1 ohm? I just dont get it since it is capable of a 1 ohm output..I ask because id like to get 2 4ohm subs and bridge them into 1ohm

Does the amp say it is 1 ohm stable? Also, subs aren't mono, amps can be mono. Mono, meaning "one", refers to a 1 channel amp(such as a mono amp or a 2 channel amp bridged into 1 channel).

yea the amp says it is 1 ohm stable...now mono makes sense, i thought it had something to do with the difference between mono and stereo..thanks...so if i read 500wx1 @4ohms...what kinda power would i push @2ohms and 1ohm? any way to calculate this? or just guess? Iys obviously gonna push much more..like 800x1@2ohms or 1000x1@1ohm dont you think?

I would think so. Now, here's another question. Does it say 1 ohm stereo stable and 1 ohm mono stable? Because that's a big difference.

i cant find where it would say anything anywhere about if its 1ohm stable mono or stereo..all i know is its a 2channel amp that is 1 ohm stable...and shows a rating of 500x1@4ohms mono...this is getting confusing

Thats weird, ive seen it listed multiple sites as being 1 ohm stable. Hmm
