help me understand 70v PA sytems.

there are 2 reasons i ask. one, the PA sytem at work is on the fritz, i know the amp is going out, and i'm having some problems with one of the speakers not working. second, i have a install coming up for the private school my woman works for that will need a 70v setup. but i have no clue how it works. i'm planing on using 10 / 11 celing speakers that are rated at about 10 watts. do i need to worry bout the ohm load back to the amp??? thanks for any help.
