Help me secure my box in the hatchback, its scary!!

I need some ideas of how to secure the sub enclosure in the back of my hatchback. It comes flying at you if you have to hit your brakes hard.....and its huge. I do not have a false floor to mount it too. Only the metal unibody.....with a gas tank right under it. I'll get around that problem with short screws. It would be very hard to secure it from the inside because the 15XXX is very hard to screw into place at a sideways position because of the massive motor structure. Ummmm......i dunno what to try?

What about some "L" brackets?

pull your woofer out, install three lag bolts through the floor of the enclosure and through the floopan, bolt on some nuts & lockwashers on the underside, reinstall woofer.

Oh yea, throw some deadener between the box bottom & floorpanel to reduce possible vibraaaaaaaaations.

A 4.2ft^3 net box tuned that low should be a pretty good size. I know the hatch area of a mustang... he CAN do it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

just get a piece of cardboard.

cut it to the shape of the floor.

trace that onto a piece of 1\2" MDF.

screw the box into the MDF through the inside of the floor of the box to the wood.

put back in car.

maybe carpet the bottom piece?and sound deadener\bracing\whatever is needed for the floor also helps.

Put some industrial strength velcro on the bottom of the box and have it grip to the carpet.
