i thought it was 20dbs was twice as loud so 150 is twice as loud as 130 not 100% sure though but i could bust out the physics book. i was thinking maybe adding in 2 xxx 10s. i was talking to this guy who used to do comps and he said he hit 152 in his truck with 2 12s and 2 10s he said aslong as the fire different ways the bass waves wont cancel eachother out. maybe i could do a nice ported box for each 10 and then that might give me some more dbs. i do need to get a new amp though. so if anyone is interested in a tsunami 1800t let me know. but anyways about the 2 10s. right now my 1 15xxx fires straight up twards the top of my hatch i figure if i have the 2 10s 1 in each corner of my hatch fire twards the center of the back wall of my hatch but offset them so one is hooked up ++ -- and tghe other is hooked up +- -+ then one will be ****** in while one is blowing out and visa versa how do you think that might work out for me?

if you have your subs hooked up so that one blows out while the other ***** in... it would be quiet.... dont do it. make all your subs excurt in synchronization.... no matter what way they are facing... what that guy told you makes no sense

You dont wanna mix sub sizes either... Stick with all the same size. Im guessing that guy probably did that 152 on an older mic.

yea when he hit 152 it was on an older mic. so ive been getting mixed oppinions about mixing sub sizes what is it exactly that is wrong with doing that? what if i got 2 12xxx and put them in the 2cuft sealed enclosure? would that make a large difference between the single 15 and the 2 12s?

yea i was talking aout the xxx man this sux i hate sealed boxes. i wish i hadnt listned to the guys at the sterio shop and made a sealed box they told me that in a hatchback a sealed would be louder cuz the trunk isnt blocked offf from the rest of the car so a sealed would be louder than a ported

Well if all you want is an air compressor system (SPL only), by all means, mix sub sizes as space allows. But if you are concerned about sound quality, mixing sub sizes will most likely cause cancellation problems.

i really want more spl out of my system. you dont know how disapointed i was when i was braging about how loud my xxx would be and i couldnt wate to hear it and when i hooked it up all i got was probably around 125db. sure its louder than some but i know it can do a lot better. like i said dont listen to sterio shop employees they arnt always as smart as you think they are im very disapointed in my sealed box and whish i had gone with a ported.

Guess thats lesson learned for me only thing to do know is try a bunch of different things to get it louder. but first have to fix the bottoming out problem.

I was under the impression it will only cause cancellation at certain frequencies, which is how SPL competitors will get away with it. Not true?
