hows it going. I am trying to establish a custom car audio shop in the dallas metroplex. I want to do everything from audio, video along with full blown vehicle customization. The only problem is that i dont know the right steps and precautions in order to do this if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Experience is greatly appreciated. Just to let you guys know there isnt a car audio location within 30 miles of the area that i am considering besides a cartoys with a very unstable reputation. The location is also located in one of the richest areas in tx not to mention the united states. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

For starters, do you even have a business plan established? What is going to separate you from the rest of the car audio shops in the industry? Are you looking for a quick buck from customers? What companies products have you decided to try and carry?

well i can get diamond audio, memphis, rockford, eclipse, ma audio, and a few others at direct wholesale. I have two techs willing to come work for me and both are ranked top 100 in the nation. ive worked in the car audio industry for about 5 years now and im wanting to open my own shop just really dont know the steps i need to take. Also i have the perfect location and building to do marine and car customization.

When your trying to get started in the industry, most companies just require a minimum freight purchase (ie: $1500 first purchase). Also, most will want to make sure that you have a store front. Some compaines will not care if you have a store front or not (ie: Power Acoustik). All you really have to do is visit the companies webiste (ie: Directed/Orion) or call them directly, and make an inquiry about becoming a dealer. Once you do that, they will tell you what their particular requirements are.

Those companies are excellent choices (Except MA Audio), but most car audio noobs will not be able to afford their products. Make sure that you look at good budget companies like Hifonics. Also, I would hope that you will be carrying Kicker.

any idea no what type of finances will be required???

What exactly do you mean? Your rent and licenses will be something to make sure you are including in your budget. I would hope that you have at least $15K to start with, or you will be in the hole with a bank loan for a while.

If you are asking for business/financial advice from a car audio forum the business is destined to fail.
Good Luck.
I was thinking that also.......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rotflol.gif.b453361716769b8110ddefc85ff03cd2.gif
