Help me pick a HT reveiver.

I'm working on piecing together an HT setup, and am looking for a solid receiver. I don't need many "fancy" features, just a solid reliable receiver with decent sound quality. Looking to spend $300 at the most but prefer under $250.

How about an SR604B refurb for ~$285, shipped?

I got my SR602B as a refurb about two and a half years ago. Got it for $250, when the 603 came out for $500. The 604 is a good unit. It has HDMI, and it is not a bad level of HDMI functionality, either.

Oh, and I run 3x Dynaudio 4-ohm fronts w/ 4x Monitor Audio 6-ohm surrounds. I have since I got mine >2years ago. It has been bulletproof, even under that load for all this time. Onkyo refurb FTW.

Worst case, if that doesn't come back in stock, I'd go up the line to the SR505 for

Get something Denon.. It has better SQ than Onkyo. It is less "flat" so to say.. Yamaha wouldn't be a bad choice though either...

I like the AVR-1508 as well. The best I have seen it is in the nid $300 range

Well guys I went to a local shop and played around with the denon some onkyos and pioneer VSX-1017TXV-K, I fell in love with the pioneer and found a good deal on one. I will post a review when I get it.
