I want to get a decent system for my car. I listen to dnb and rap.

I was going to build my own slot vented box, so thatll help me save some $.

My headunit is a kenwood excelon x493

I just need an amp and subs. I found 2 kicker CVR 12's on ebay for 150 shipped. I dont know if they will be good or not. Im trying to do this on a budget, so please anyone with advice help me out.

dont ask about my budget, because I might say 300 or even 400. i dont know yet

edit: and its all going in a 96 civic hatch, so they bang!

you're gonna wanna focus on the vented box. that's probably gonna make or break it. and don't forget wires and install too! but anyway when you do make the box, try to give it as much space as you can give it. One 12" in a very good box will sound MUCH better than 2 12's in a crummy box. Maybe one 12" type R and Alpine MRP-M500 for your budget? Will be about 300 bux total for sub and amp. plus some more for the wires... trust me, if you do the install for everything right, it's gonna be pretty loud in ur little civic hatchback:veryhapp:

you should do 2 10's or 1 15 in that kind of car IMO. those cars get loud, just make sure you build a very nice box and you'll be set

wow i installed my kenwood excelon x493 today, and that ***** is sweet. cant wait to see it at night!!!

I already bought a 4ga stinger amp kit, so im all good on the wires. I wont be paying for install, because i do that shit myself. I just got done sound deadening my whole car, and then stuffing the panels with polyfill for dampening.

What about 2 diamond d3 12" in a vented box? I plan on removing the rear seat and having the box connect from the hatch to the rear seat. So I will have plenty of room.

I Just need some suggestions on subs/amp combo. Right now I have a pioneer gm7100m that ill be using for temporary purposes till i buy my amp. its an 800w mono, so itll be somethin.
