help me out?

okay so here is my story. i had an FI Q with a kicker KX1000.1 in a ported box tuned to 33hz. had the sub for about 3 weeks and something blew only one voicecoil would work so i called FI he told me that my amp didn't have a subsonic filter on it to turn it down to what my box was tuned to in this case i had to get one for it not to blow so i got a cross over that turned it down to 40hz but that obviously didnt work needless to say it's blown again so i have two subs on my mind.

i either want to run with an Alpine type X

or a Brutus olympus.

the brutus is dual 2 ohm but the alpine is dual 4.

will you guys give me your thoughts if i should go with one of these two subs or just go by an L7 and call it a day.

is it worth the money?

and could i throw one of the named subs in a prefab ported box and run with it or will i have to find a person to design me a box and what should i tune it too?

if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

An alpine X I would give all my stuff for one of those I was in a car with one OMG what sound quality and it was loud to. Get an X and forget about it. Hifonics make pretty good amps but I rely haven't heard there speakers.
