Help Me Make My New System!

Hey guys. I'm in the works for a new system, as I've decided that instead of taking little baby steps up to my "ultimate" system, I'll just take one big step and buy it now (well - decide on it now and buy it over the next several months). I already have the HU/EQ picked out (Sony Mobile ES CDX C910/XDR210EQ) so no suggestions there are required. I'm also 95% set on a 15" Brahma for the subbass, but suggestions are okay. Now, the amplifiers and the speakers are where I'm turning to you guys. I'm in a tossup over Arc, US Amps, Memphis for the amps. I'll need @ least 1000W at either 4ohm or 1 ohm, and a 4 channel amp around 50X4 at 4ohm. The front stage I'd like to be horn loaded compression drivers, probably Image Dynamics, but any help here would be great as well. For midbass I'll be looking at an 8" driver to go into kick panels. Look into the Revolution 1500 from http://www.ampman.com . Seeing as to how Adire Audio had a hand in creating it I'm sure it will power your Brahma nicely. Just in case your not familiar with it, or someone reading isn't, it will put out 1600wrms+ @ 1 Ohm and only will cost ~$369. I would get that and the Precision Power PCX450 (4 x 50w).

I'll take a gander at those, thanks. I'm also debating doing a complete stealth install instead of the flashier fiberglass. If I am planning on putting this much money into my car, I think it best to be on the low down.

out of the amps you listed I would get the Us Amps 1000watt what ever the heIl its called or Id look into a Crossfire1000D, very nice amps.

Whats up[./.. an the amp any cheater amp(audiobahn or memphis..) or the Jbl 1200.1 cant go wrong with that amp. On the mids and highs.. If you want the best in sq use infinity or jbl... they have the best sq no matter what people say .. and the 8's get some rockfards or maybee like a lower end 10 inch if your going just be using for mid bass..

and if you are going to be buying sony you might want to look in to aiwa instead aiwa is a division of sony but has better sq than sony.. the rest is up to you though.

Infinity amplifiers are good, although I'm looking for more reliability in the long run. For the most part the only Infinity amplifiers you can purchase are refurbished. Several amps, such as the 255A are notorious for blowing out certain channels.

You think Rockford has the transient response to compete with Image Dynamics, Morel, or Vifa? I don't think so. I suggest you look into some more 8's.

Aiwa? You're insane. I suggest you research HU's before you suggest Aiwa over older Sony Mobile ES series. I doubt any Aiwa has dual 20bit DAC converters with full copper shielding. Better SQ? I challenge you to find many HU's with better SQ than the C90 or C910. It's a tossup with several other brand names (ie Mactintosh, Eclipse or the Pioneer P9).

Also Infinity... they ahve GOOD SQ, but are nowehre near the levels of Focal, Image Dynamics, etc.

their higher end stuff (Perfects) ahve inherent design falws as well as fairly poor tweeters (uncontrollable). Aiwa, I have an aiwa, and honestly, i woudl rather choose a midlevel Sony deck over it if I had to again... lok over your facts, check out specs, revewis etc...

what ever your happy with is cool.. but you know what .. reveiws and specs and crud like that doesnt make a difference... like a saying i think one of the review guys has one test is as good as a a thousand experts oppinions... or something like that or along those lines. I have tested several hundred" of products and the only other speaker company that has better sound that infinity and jbl is bose!!! bose is # 1 and jbl infinity come in 2and and 3rd.. then the rest of the companies behind that.. The largest car audio companiesnot in order) RF's , Audiobahn, kicker, mtx, Jbl, infinity, and now just grown xtant (sister company of mtx starts where mtx stops) Alpine. THese are the biggest companys

Does Bose even make aftermarket car audio??no, they don't... do they make home audio, yes and excellent stuff at that. But if their car audio stuff is **** great why does everyone REPLACE their stock Bose stuff?

Audiobahn is not one of teh biggest companiest, they just use the most chrome... Xtant does not stop where MTX ends, what bout 8000's, RFL's, and the new one the 1million or whatever?

ever looked at an Xtant sub? those thigns are soooo weakly constructed...

Since when do specs not make a difference?? If they didn't, why would they be there? If I'm looking for an SPL subwoofer should I ignore the xmax?

That's true. I've heard many Aiwa HU's, and I've heard the C90. The difference is night and day. I have also heard RF 8's and Image Dynamics 8's. I would rather have Morel 6.5's than RF 8's as far as SQ is concerned.

Are you confusing the word tested with listened to, or been in contact with? If you've tested several hundred products, I would certainly like to hear critical reviews of them, including technical data. As for your opinion on driver sound quality, I disagree as much as anyone can, although you can like Bose and JBL all you want.

Okay...I'm aware of several companies as well. Realise I'm looking for the best performance, not the most mainstream and popular brands. The only thing out of all of those companies I haven't heard is an Infinity amplifier. None suit my needs as far as higher end car stereo is concerned. I've even owned Kicker, JBL, Infinity before. On a seperate note you've forgotten to mention some major car audio manufacturers to your list.

In need of a 50x4 channel amp? How abourt a Rockford Fosgate 400@4 near new only like 1 hour of use. Its 1999 model and its perfect no defets or refurbs here. If intersted give me an offer.
