Ground Poundin' bass
Hi,I'm new to the forum but am having some trouble with which of these two subs is going to deliver the bass I want and take a beating.

Well I will be buying two new 12" subwoofers this weekend and I was planning on going with Audiopipes Eyecandy 12" TXX-AP12BL 4 ohm DVC subwoofers, but I am also thinking about getting two Alpine Type R SWR-1242D 4 ohm DVC subwoofers.

I like ground pounding bass, the kind that is heard and felt outside the car and not that I would want to do it intentionally but have the ability to set an alarm or two off.

I am thinking of getting the Two 12" Audiopipe Eyecandy TXX-AP12BL subwoofers placing in a 4 cubic foot or 6 cubic foot box tuned to 35Hz or 45Hz.They would be wired to present a 1 ohm load to a Lanzar OPTI2000D monoblock amplifer for 1600+w RMS (800+w a piece).

I have provided all the specs I could possibly find on both subwoofers (Type R and Eyecandy TXX-AP12BL) below, but I need your help to get the one that are going to pound the loudest, deepest possible bass and give me that ground pounding bass that rattles things outside the car.

Xmax = 14 millimeters

Max vented box recommended = 3.0 cubic feet

They are way underated you know.....

I'll warn you right now............//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

This place is addicting:crazy:

Thanks sweet06camry...glad to be here and lookign forward to learning many things.I am not new to car audio but outside of personal listening, wiring an amp, wiring subs and installing it all I am un educated in car audio.

You say Type R and that is what alot of people have told me to go with.

There is a custom audio shop in my area that is a licensed Audiopipe dealer. They carry the TXX-AP12's and are charging $350 for te pair.

The installer/salesman I was talking to asked what kind of car and what kind of music and what type of bass.I replied..."1995 Oldsmoile Cutlass Ciera 4dr SL,Mainly rap like Lil Jon 36 Mafia, bass that's going to hurt my chest make my vision blurry it's so loud and the bass you can hear loud and clear and feel out of the car...basically an eye/ear catcher LOL,GROUND POUNDING!

The installer actually owns/drives a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 4dr SL and just so happened to have fabricated his back seat into a wall or mammoth box with two 12" Audiopipe Eyecandy TXX-AP12's wired to 1 ohm with a Lanzar OPTI200D amp for 1600w Rms (800w per sub). They were so loud that I couldn't hear my self screaming "this is kick ***".

So let me here the pros and cons of Type R's and if anyone has used or heard the Audiopipes TXXAP12's let me know what you think.

How under rated are they?

also to mention audiopipe is audiobahn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it nice for SPL but for daily i dunno.

What do you mean?SQ isn't too much of a concern for me as I am afetr the deepest loudest bass I an get but am stuck between these two.
