help me install my remote turn on wire (not on alpines wire harness)

ok im runnin my wires now, i have power, rca's and remote wire ran from trunk to cabin where head unit is

now there is no remote turn on wire comming from the alpines wiring harness, on the alpine unit it says it should be wire #10 or something like that, and its blue/white, well its literally NOT on the wire harness, like theres a wire missing where it SHOULD go... so wtf do i do? hmmmmm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

I had a similar issue with a Kenwood tape deck I had back in the day that lived in a few different vehicles prior to getting sold - after being installed/uninstalled/reinstalled more than a few times the remote turn-on output wire got ripped out of the harness somehow...

It was suggested that I should connect the remote input on my amps to a fuse that is ignition-switch controlled but I didn't want the amps to be "on" unless the head unit was on as well so I wired a toggle switch to serve as remote activation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ooooooo ok the remote turn on lead for amps...i was thinkin of the ignition controlled power wire. my bad mang...yeah i would just hook it to the ignition lead too...or just run it to my fuse box

now if you want to be able to have the amp only be on when the radio is on without use of a remote wire. You can use what is a called a low voltage trigger. Basically you hook this piece up to power and a speaker line and when the unit "sees" a signal on the speaker lines it will then output a 12 remote that can be hooked up 2 the amp. not sure if they still do but radio did at one time carry these or i'm sure a quick look on google will turn up somewhere with them. they are usually like 15-20 bucks.

on my alpine theres one blue wire and one blue/white wire

CC told me that both works because they act as turn on wires but the blue/white has a higher voltage? i might be wrong

The blue wire is a power antenna wire. it will turn off when u switch from cd to radio.

Yeah, your deck, and most others have 2 power wires. A constant 12V supply, the yellow wire, and a switched powersupply, the red wire. So if you splice your amp's remote wire into that one, everytime you turn your ignition to the on/acc possition, your deck AND amp will come on. This is what you are looking for.

yep, said that on the alpine unit (where it shows what wire is what)
so i can just hook it up to the red wire then? it will turn off and onwith the head unit right?

Nope.If you turn it to acc. (or any position for that matter except off) it'll turn on.Regardless if you have the head unit on or not.Say you're on a long drive and you don't feel like listening to the radio anymore, if you turn the radio off the amp will still be on.

Just buy a $3 toggle swich.

Or if you know where the wire location is on the harness, try to get a piece of wire in there and get it to stick (solder). And dleaccord, the solid blue is the power antenna wire, when you switch it from radio to CD your amp will shut off.Never go to that CC again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
