well my friend brought over his truck today and he ahs two 12's. Anyways he was telling me about a problem he was ahving with it that sometimes when he turns his car on it's all bass and no words. I took a listen and sure enough it was no treble just all bass. But he said it only does it sometimes and other times it will work fine. i bet his sub control on the deck is at like +12, and his gain is cranked, and his bass boost is up.

What i do is when im driving i usually keep my bass at -12..but if i want to show my shit off turn it up and it gets significantly louder

also, does he have speakers up front, does he have them amped..? I was running alpine type-s coaxials in my 97 monte when i had 1 treo 15'' and id crank the treo and the bass would overplay the words and it was very unbalanced..added an amp fixed that problem..so myguess is that he just has a weak front stage

Since the only drivers you mentioned here are the 12s....is this "friend" expecting vocals out of his substage?

If so then he's sadly mistaken about the purpose subwoofers are supposed to serve...

it may be that he has his boosts up all the way ill take a look. He's 16 btw so he really doesn't care about front stage he just wants some words but mostly bass. His front speakers are stock and not running of an amp just the aftermarket hu

Set his bass/treble settings for him, the internal amp in the deck is probably getting hot hot and turning off, or a wiring problem
