ok I have an 87 Buick Grand National.

5.25 kicker ks in the door panel

kicker compvr 10 inch subwoofer

alpine mrp-f450 70x4 and alpine mrp-d450 on their way

I stoped over at SpeakerWorks in Orange, Ca and they recomended CDT 6x9 components for the rear hands down. They firgured I could just get the cl-c9 which is just the mid/subwoofer without the tweeter. This would be for the rear deck which is designed for 4x10s, but a 6x9 adapter will fit.

Does this make sense? I know everyone hates rear speakers and 6x9s. I wouldnt want to run the tweeters becuase the rear deck is so close to my ears it pulls all the highs to the back. But I think the mids and lows would/might be cool....

Anyone have any thoughts? I listen to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath etc...

Ps they thought I was crazy when I asked about not running rear speakers per everyone on the internet....

find some good infinite baffle subs for the back, run the components in the front. Look up some image dynamics subwoofers, great for running off rear deck.

are we talking the holdaways?if so just tellem what you are wanting sound wise. they were one of the pioneers in car hifi to the extreme....

Yes that was the Haldaways place....

Tang Bands are 8 ohm and I would be running it through my 4 ch so that wouldnt work.

Can you give me a link to the image dynamics you are talking about?

my rear deck is very narrow, so an 8 inch will not fit... 4x10 --->6x9 barley fit

anymore ideas...
