Help me get started

So basically im completely new to this

Ive got a 2001 Honda Accord with factory audio.

Could someone give me a basic outline of what i should be looking for if my budget is around 500 dollars.

From my limited experience it seems like 2 front speakers, amp, sub and head unit is what i need.

Also, if you could provide any recommended products thatd be great

Sorry forgot to metion my preferances.

No, i dont want to be loud. I hate it when i can hear other peoples music and they can hear mine.

I just want something with medium volume that sounds pretty good all around.

Also, if it matters, i listen to mostly rock with some hip-hop/rap

Yea i realize that, i just want something pretty basic that makes the car sound decent

budget speakers that sound pretty good. any amp that puts out around 100W to go with those

You can find a cheap headunit pretty much anywhere, it all depends on what you want in it (CD player, ipod control etc...)

i got a JVC headunit for about 35 bucks at a pawn shop and it had auxilary input and CD player and radio and i thought that was a big win

When it comes to getting an amp. Should i get a 2 or 4 channel one. Also i assume by saying get one that puts out 100W, thats 100W for each channel.
